Big Government

Two recent articles got my attention and they are definitely related.  First I saw a recent Gallup Poll that said that fear of big government was near an all time high.  In fact, a whopping 64% of Americans felt that it was the biggest threat to our country:

In your opinion, which of the following will be the biggest threat to the country in the future -- big business, big labor, or big government? 1965-2011 trend

That is compared to only 26% that said Big Business was the greatest threat (sorry Occupods).  Then I saw a CNN Article that gave credence to the people's fear.  The Obama Administration just had the NTSB issue a reccomendation to all of the States that it be made illegal to talk on a cell phone while driving.  Actually, I find the whole thing heartwarming in one respect.  It reinforces my heartfelt belief that the American people get it.  The want to chose their own doctors, they want to drill for our own energy reserves, they believe in the right of law abiding citizens to chose or not to bear arms, and a myriad of other common sense things--including making their own decisions about when it is safe or not to talk on your cell phone while behind the wheel.  Keep it up people and don't believe everything you read in the papers (or the internet).
