Charlton Police Sergeant Dan Dowd stopped by the home of Shannon Benoit to let her know that her daughter had two books several months overdue which needed to be returned or paid for.
“I thought it was way overboard,” says Benoit. “I closed my door, I looked at my daughter and she started crying.”
Hailey asked her mom if the police were going to arrest her. Hailey says, “I was scared.”
Seriously, guys? A five year old girl?

I'm going to go a little way out on a limb and suggest that anyone who gets that as an order and carries it out instead of saying, "Go sleep it off"...
...probably enjoys it.
Duly noted, Sergeant Dowd. Further affiant saith not.
Too bad young Miss Hailey did not have my number. I think I may have had a little fun with the Charlton contabulary. Of course, I would have probably had to accept a slightly used American Girl doll as a retainer, but it would have been etertaining...
