God has mustered out

Or maybe I should say has been ordered to retire.  The Air Force Rapid Capabilities Office has always had the above emblem.  Across the bottom is their motto in Latin: "Doing God's Work With Other Peoples Money."  The Obama Administration has ordered the word "God" removed.  It now reads: Miraculi Cum Pecunia Alienum Efficemus.  Translation: Doing Miracles With Other People's Money.

I'm curious how that motto came to be used in the first place. It seems pretty out of character for a us.mil organization.

They said it was an inside joke. Either way, it was there and there was no reason to change. The USAF command acknowledges they were not legally compelled to do so, anymore than we have to take the reference off of our currency. They were being politically correct.
